Melissa Ferreira, Associate Principal

Hello E.B.S. Penguins!

I am Melissa Ferreira and I am beyond honored and thrilled to introduce myself as the Associate Principal of Ellen Browning Scripps Elementary!

I began teaching in 2008 and have served the San Diego Unified School District for the entirety of my career in the primary grades— mostly kindergarten and TK. As an educator, I am committed to continually cultivating a culture of inclusion, respect, and appreciation for the diversity of our campus and the greater community so that all students have a positive and happy elementary experience. I believe in the importance of building strong connections and relationships with students, parents, staff, and teachers to create and maintain a school and learning environment that nurtures all who step onto our campus. 

I am a proud 2nd generation Filipino-American born and raised in San Francisco. I moved to San Diego to attend SDSU and have been soaking up the sun ever since.
